Verizon Credit Card Online Application

The Verizon Credit Card is a co-branded rewards credit card issued by Synchrony Bank for eligible Verizon wireless and Fios customers.

It allows users to earn Verizon Dollars on daily purchases and redeem them toward Verizon bills, devices, and accessories.

This article explains how the online application works, the card’s key fees and interest rates, and how to contact the bank.

Overview of the Verizon Visa® Card

The Verizon Visa Card is available only to account owners with at least one active service. Business and prepaid customers are not eligible.

The card has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees, making it a cost-effective for customers who travel or spend internationally.

Rewards are earned as Verizon Dollars, which can be used for Verizon bills, upgrades, and accessory purchases.

Key rewards include:

  • 4% on grocery store, gas/EV charging, and restaurant purchases
  • 4% on Verizon purchases (excluding bill payments)
  • 1% on Verizon Wireless or Fios bill payments
  • 1% on all other purchases

Verizon also periodically offers a sign-up bonus (often up to $200 in credits when meeting spending requirements).

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must be an eligible Verizon wireless Account Owner or Account Manager, or a Verizon Fios Account Owner.

Having a valid U.S. residential address and meeting Synchrony Bank’s credit approval requirements is vital.

There is no publicly stated minimum credit score, but Synchrony typically approves applicants with good credit.

How the Online Application Works

Because the card is integrated with your Verizon account, most applicants apply through My Verizon rather than a traditional bank portal.

If you are not yet a Verizon customer, you must first create an eligible Verizon account before applying.

Process

Sign in to My Verizon using the app or official website. Navigate to Products & perks → Banking and Cards → Verizon Visa Card.

Select “See if you prequalify” (a soft credit check) or go directly to “Apply now.”

Complete the application form with personal details, including Social Security number, income, and housing status.

After You Apply

Most applicants receive an instant decision. If approved, the card is automatically added to your Verizon profile for eligible purchases.

You can use the virtual card for Verizon transactions even before the physical card arrives.

If Synchrony needs more time to review your application, you will receive a decision letter by mail. You can also restart the application.

Interest Rates, Fees, and Costs

The Verizon Visa® Card currently lists the following rates and fees (these may change, so always review the current cardmember agreement):

  • Purchase APR: 27.74% variable
  • Balance Transfer APR: 27.74% variable
  • Cash Advance APR: 31.99% variable
  • Penalty APR: 37.74% variable (can remain indefinitely)
  • Minimum Interest Charge: $2
  • Balance Transfer Fee: $5 or 5% of the amount (whichever is greater)
  • Cash Advance Fee: $10 or 5% of the amount (whichever is greater)
  • Foreign Transaction Fee: $0
  • Late Payment Fee: Up to $41
  • Returned Payment Fee: Up to $41
  • Paper Statement Fee: $1.99 per month

These rates show why it is important to pay your balance in full whenever possible. High APRs can quickly outweigh any rewards earned.
